Filippos Lygerakis
Filippos Lygerakis is an Environmental Engineer (M.Eng, MSc, PhD) and holds a PhD from the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete, focusing on the integration of innovative energy technologies and advanced building materials in buildings and sustainable green neighbourhoods. His research combines experimental performance assessment of advanced materials (e.g., phase change materials, PCMs for enhanced building energy efficiency) with digital frameworks such as Knowledge Graphs, Digital Twins, Agent-Based Modelling, and AI-enhanced neurosymbolic approaches for sustainable urban transformation. He participates as a researcher in European and national projects, including the HORIZON 2020 PROBONO and INTEGRATES projects, as well as the national GreenMat project under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, contributing also to Work Package leadership activities. He has published in international peer-reviewed journals (Energies, Scientific Reports) on energy-efficient materials and digital decision-support systems and is co-inventor of a granted patent on Knowledge Graph-centric decision support for green building neighbourhood renovation scenario modelling.
