Our Experience
The Laboratory of Sustainable Built Environment (SBE Lab) was established at the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete to support research, education, and innovation in the field of the sustainable built environment.
The laboratory focuses on addressing contemporary environmental and energy challenges by integrating engineering, digital technologies, environmental science, and human-centered design, aiming to support the transition towards resilient, energy-efficient, and socially inclusive cities.
What We Do
The SBE Lab is actively involved in:
• Fundamental and applied research in energy and environmental engineering
• Implementation of national and international research and innovation projects, in collaboration with academic institutions, research centers, public authorities, and private organizations
• Education and training of undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students, through research and academic support activities
• Organization of scientific events and provision of studies, technical services, and scientific support in accordance with current legislation
